Homeschool evaluations are offered for Virginia families homeschooling under the evaluation option. This service fulfills the state requirement for an evaluation letter from a qualified professional stating that a student is achieving an adequate level of educational growth and progress.

All materials are submitted and reviewed digitally, and evaluation letters are delivered electronically. Any required appointments are held virtually via Google Meet. Evaluations are offered on a limited, seasonal basis.

Evaluation Fee & What’s Included

Homeschool evaluations are offered at a rate of $125 per student.

This fee includes:

• Review of parent-submitted work samples

• Professional evaluation by a qualified educator

• One signed evaluation letter stating the student is achieving an adequate level of educational growth and progress, in accordance with Virginia law

• Digital delivery of the evaluation letter

• One brief virtual appointment (approximately 15–20 minutes) conducted via Google Meet, if needed for clarification or confirmation.

What to Upload for Your Homeschool Evaluation

To complete your Virginia homeschool evaluation, you will need to upload the following materials for each student (this can be done at the link below):

1. Overview of Subjects or Courses Studied
   A brief list or summary of the subjects covered during the year.

2. Samples of Student Work
   A small selection of representative work demonstrating academic progress. Please include at least one sample of work from the start of the school year (August/September) and another sample of work from the end of the school year (April/May):

   • Writing samples

   • Math work

Evaluations are based solely on the materials submitted. Additional review or consultation beyond the scope of the evaluation is not included.
